New Post ♥ Big Smile ♥

Resolutions...?!?!!? UMmm... Well I haven't exactly made any yet.   Wait, what...???    You're suppose to have them all ready by the 1st!!  Lol... Many things have gone through my mind about what I'd like to accomplish this year.  One thing that will happen this year is that we will have a baby! This may decease the number of other things that I will accomplish. (very hearty laugh) Seeing as how I have 3ish months until that will happen, I guess I should try pack in as much as I can...

One resolution :  BLOG!!! As I started thinking about this, I wondered how many other people had this resolution; to start a blog, or restart a blog (as in my case).  Every time I think about starting to post on my blog, I just get a feeling of guilt.  Guilt that I haven't kept up on it.  I've realized this a similar pattern that people have with many other resolutions.  Start out with good intentions, but then start to forget, get too busy, or whatever else makes us fail to keep up that perfect record.  Now, I say that because I am one of those people that likes to see a neat little check mark next to EVERY  OBJECTIVE!! Why does it distress me when I miss a day? This year I will remember I only FAIL when I stop trying.   Even if I do miss a post day, GET OVER IT!!! (haha, do you like "my stern talking to" for myself?)

Well this year... I have many thoughts about resolutions.  Our lives have changed.  We are finally out on property, and we plan on staying here!! (we've been wanting this for many years) So I think we just have a lot of new habits to make.  We'll be getting chickens and starting the garden soon.  We've already done a lot to make our house more comfortable, but we will still be working on that and on landscaping. So... here goes. Blogging about everything from painting furniture to gardening, chickens, and a baby!! I think I'll have quite enough to keep me enthusiastic about blogging.

Other resolutions; oh you know same ol' same ol'... Take more pics and videos of our family. read ,more, get a lot of things organized, eat better, exercise more... ya know.  These are a lot more specific in my personal journal. :D

What a Whirlwond!!!!

This has been quite the fun and interesting couple of weeks!! Thanksgiving ran smoothly.  We had my mom and dad (the ones who raised me lol),  and my sister Ashley, her husband Heston and their little guy, named Heston also.  Ashley is my husbands sister, but considering we get along so well, and I always wanted sisters (I grew up with only 1 brother,  Hi Daren!) I drop the -in-law part. This actually goes for the rest of the family too.   : )
My girls helping make cookies
Some of the girls played games
and the some of the some guys played games too.
On Thanksgivings Day it was decided that Ashley (who is pregnant), her little boy, my 3 kids, and I were going to travel to Tennessee (30+ straight driving hours) It took us 39 hours, driving through the night.  We went out to see another sister, Tory, get married and have a baby (yes both happened it the 8 days we were there). Brooke (sister) flew in with her son Cole.   It was a wonderful time and so good for some of the family be together!! Lots of memories made. : D  I didn't get many pictures :(    I'm not good at remembering to get out the camera (mmm... resolution!!).

I think I got about 10 pictures the whole time I was there.  lol Here are a few...

Pop and Cole and Ryan
This sweetheart is Cloe.  She used to be Tory's dog.  She rode up with Tory to go to New York, the night she found out her fiance had been killed in Afghanistan.

This trip was amazing for my spirit.  I am refreshed, rejuvenated, and inspired!!

The Happenings of Late

I can't believe I have not posted anything on this blog this year!!! It's almost June!!! Lol  Anyway here are some recent events.  We all went to meeting Sunday, and had a nice opportunity for some pictures.

Then there was the solar eclipse.  Our neighbors were nice enough to give us a pair of their cool eclipse glasses. The kids were all very intrigued by this wonder.

The cool shadows.

The start of a new project.  Ahhh yeah, this is paint.  ummm, but I was supposed to prime it first.  :/ opps!

Random Thoughts

The thing about looking back too much, or forward for that matter is that you miss seeing what is around you in the present. I have 3 little faces that smile at me everyday, and a husband that loves me beyond words, a roof over our heads and food on our table. As I write this my heart and my eyes overflow. The Lord has blessed me so....

Just Love Making Memories

I think, correct me if I'm wrong here Mom, that we have made gingerbread houses every year since Emily was born. We have tired something a little different, this year. Everybody got to make their own. It work really well. Alterations we well make for next year: don't wake Ryan up early from his nap (lol). Use small milk cartons for support. (picked up this idea while making gingerbread houses with Kiera's class today.)

You can tell Ryan favorite part of this fun-filled afternoon. :)

This is Ryan finished product. Lol yes, he ate most the candy off before I could get a picture.

The girls have fun decorating and being creative.

All three finish products

This Kiera's finished product from school.

A Late Thanksgiving Post

Yes this is us in November outside with no coats on!!! Doesn't Nashville sound great?!?! Honestly I have to say, being the Colorado girl I am, I miss the snow at this time of year.
Being together with family is the most precious gift anyone can give or recieve!!

Wishing all of you a joyous holiday season.
